  4. 4Select Save metadata and download the file.

What the options do

Title, Author, Subject
Details that PDF readers show in the document properties and sometimes in the window title.
Keywords
Words that describe the document, separated by commas. Search tools on your computer can use them.
Clear all existing metadata
Empties title, author, subject, keywords, creator and producer before your new values are written. Useful before you share a file whose author name you do not want to show.

Privacy

This tool runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

Questions people ask

Is the file uploaded?

No. The details are changed in your browser and the file stays on your device.

Does this change what is printed on the pages?

No. It changes the hidden document properties only. The pages look exactly the same.

Why does a PDF reader still show the old title?

Some readers show the file name or a title set in other places. Close and reopen the file. A few programs cache old properties.

Does clearing metadata remove everything private?

It removes the standard fields listed above. Text, images, comments and form data on the pages are not touched, so check those separately.

Can I see the current values?

This tool writes new values. Your PDF reader's Document Properties dialog shows the existing ones.
