What the options do

Convert to
JPG opens everywhere and is small. PNG is lossless but much larger for photos.
Quality
For JPG only. 90 looks the same as the original to most eyes; lower makes smaller files.

Privacy

This tool runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

Questions people ask

Are my photos uploaded?

No. A converter built with WebAssembly runs in your browser, so your photos stay on your device.

What is HEIC?

It is the photo format iPhones and iPads use by default. It makes smaller files than JPG, but many Windows apps, websites and older devices cannot open it.

Do I keep the photo date and location?

No. The converted JPG does not carry the original camera details or location. That also makes it safer to share.

Can I convert many photos at once?

Yes. Add as many as your device can handle and download them together as a ZIP. Large batches take longer on phones.

What about Live Photos or HDR?

You get the main still picture. The short video of a Live Photo is not included.

Why did one file fail?

The file may be damaged, or it may be a rare kind of HEIF image. Try opening it on the phone and saving it again.
