How it works

  1. 1Choose one or many images, or drag them onto the page.
  2. 2Pick how to resize: exact pixels, a percentage, or a preset such as an Instagram post or a YouTube thumbnail.
  3. 3Choose the output format and quality, then select Resize images.
  4. 4Download each resized image, or all of them as one ZIP.

What the options do

Pixels
Type a width, a height, or both. With "Keep the aspect ratio" on, one number is enough, and with two the picture fits inside that box without stretching.
Percent
Scale every image by the same share. 50% gives half the width and half the height, which is about a quarter of the pixels.
Preset
Common sizes for social posts, stories, thumbnails and avatars. "Fit inside" keeps the whole picture. "Fill and crop" fills the exact size and trims the edges.
Output format and quality
Keep each image in its format, or save as JPG, PNG or WebP. Quality applies to JPG and WebP.

Questions people ask

Are my images uploaded?

No. Resizing happens in your browser with your own device. The photos never leave it.

Will resizing make my image blurry?

Making an image smaller keeps it sharp. Making it larger cannot add detail that was never there, so a big enlargement looks soft.

What is the difference between Fit inside and Fill and crop?

Fit inside shrinks the picture until all of it is within the preset size, so one side may be shorter. Fill and crop covers the whole preset size and cuts off whatever sticks out.

Can I resize many images to the same size?

Yes. Add them all, choose one setting, and every image gets it. With a width and "Keep the aspect ratio", each image keeps its own shape.

Is there a size limit?

There is no upload limit because nothing is uploaded. The limit is your device memory; very large outputs, above roughly 120 million pixels, are refused with a message.

Why did my phone photo come out the right way up?

Phones store photos sideways with a note saying how to turn them. ToolsMaxxing reads that note and saves the picture upright.
