Questions people ask
How much should I tip?
It depends on the country. 15 to 20 percent is usual in the US, 10 percent is common in many other places, and some countries include service already. Check the local custom and your bill.
Is the tip on the bill with or without tax?
This tool applies it to the amount you enter. Enter the pre-tax amount if you tip before tax.
Can people pay different amounts?
No. It splits equally. For uneven shares, calculate each person's items on their own.
What if service charge is already on the bill?
Then set the tip to zero, or to a small extra amount you want to leave.
Does it work in any currency?
Yes. It only works with numbers.
