This is a simple illustration with your own allowance and rates. It is not tax advice and does not follow any country's rules, credits or social charges. Use your tax authority's calculator for real figures.

How it works

  1. 1Enter your gross salary and say whether it is per month or per year.
  2. 2Enter the allowance, the size of the first tax band and the two rates from your country's rules.
  3. 3Add other deductions as a percentage of gross.
  4. 4Read the estimated take-home pay.

Questions people ask

Is this accurate for my country?

No. It is a simple illustration with two tax bands that you set yourself. It does not know any country's real rates, credits, rebates, social charges or investment allowances. Use your tax authority's calculator or an accountant for real figures.

Why are the defaults set to those numbers?

They are placeholders to show how the tool works, not current rules for any country. Replace them with your own.

Does it handle more than two bands?

No. For several bands, run the calculation for each slice, or use a dedicated tool for your country.

What does average tax rate mean?

Total income tax divided by gross pay. It is lower than your top rate because only the upper slice is taxed at the higher rate.

Is employer tax included?

No. Only deductions from your pay are shown.
