Is my file or password uploaded?

No. The PDF is decrypted in your browser. Neither the file nor the password leaves your device.

Can you unlock a PDF if I forgot the password?

No. This tool needs the password. It does not guess or break passwords.

Should I unlock any PDF I find?

Only unlock files you own or are allowed to open. Removing protection from other people's documents may break their terms or the law.

What if the PDF opens fine but I cannot print or copy?

It has permission limits but no open password. Leave the password empty and the tool saves a copy without those limits.

Will the content change?

No. Pages, text and images are kept as they are. Only the encryption is removed.

Why does it say the password is wrong?

Check capital letters and keyboard layout. Some files have an open password and a separate owner password; the one you type here must be the one that opens the file.
