How it works

  1. 1Pick the date and time, and the time zone it is in. Your own zone is filled in for you.
  2. 2Add the places you care about from the list.
  3. 3Read the local time in each place, with a note if the day changes.
  4. 4Change the time to plan a call or a launch.

What the options do

In this time zone
The zone the entered time belongs to. Defaults to your device's zone.
Add a place
Any zone from your browser's list. Names are by region, such as Asia/Dhaka, not by country.
Use the current time
Sets the time to now in the chosen zone.

Privacy

The conversion uses the time zone data built into your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Questions people ask

Does it handle daylight saving time?

Yes. Offsets are taken from your browser's time zone database for the exact date you choose, so summer and winter times are right.

Why do I see Asia/Kolkata, not India?

Time zones are defined by region and city in the IANA database, because countries can have several zones and rules change. Search the list by a major city in the country.

What happens with a time that does not exist?

On the day clocks go forward, an hour is skipped. A time inside it is moved to the nearest valid time. A time in the repeated hour in autumn is read as the first one.

Is Bangladesh time shown correctly?

Asia/Dhaka is UTC+6 all year. Bangladesh tried summer time in 2009 but does not use it now.

How accurate is it for future dates?

It uses the rules your browser knows today. If a country changes its rules later, results for dates after the change may be off until your browser updates.
