How it works

  1. 1Choose what to include: microphone, sound from the screen or tab, and a webcam bubble.
  2. 2Select Start recording. Your browser asks which screen, window or tab to share.
  3. 3Do what you want to show. Pause and resume whenever you like.
  4. 4Select Stop, watch the preview, and download the recording as WebM or convert it to MP4.

What the options do

Record my microphone
Adds your voice. The browser asks for permission first.
Record sound from the screen or tab
Captures the sound that the shared tab or screen plays. In the browser share window, tick the box for sharing audio. Tab sound works in Chrome and Edge on every system; full system sound is limited to Windows.
Show my webcam in a corner bubble
Puts a round picture of your webcam on top of the recording, in the corner you choose.
Quality
Standard records up to 720p with a smaller file. High records up to 1080p with a larger file.
Count down before recording
Waits three seconds after you pick what to share, so you can switch to the right window.

Privacy

This tool runs in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to a server.

Questions people ask

Is my recording uploaded?

No. The video is recorded and stored in your browser tab, and it is deleted when you close the tab. We never see it.

Why is there no sound from my computer?

Your browser only shares sound if you tick the audio box in its share window, and only for some choices. Chrome and Edge can share the sound of a tab on every system. Sharing the whole screen with sound works on Windows only. A microphone always works if you allow it.

Does it work on a phone or in Safari on iPhone?

No. Phones and tablets do not let web pages record the screen. Use a computer with a recent Chrome, Edge or Firefox. The built-in screen recorder of your phone is the better choice there.

Is there a time limit?

We set none. The recording is kept in memory while you record, so very long recordings, for example over an hour at high quality, can slow down your device. Record in parts if you need that.

WebM or MP4, which should I use?

WebM is what your browser records, and it plays in browsers and VLC. MP4 plays almost everywhere, including phones and editors. The MP4 button converts it in your browser, which can take a few minutes for a long recording. Converting also makes the video easier to skip through.

Can I record a single window or tab?

Yes. When the browser asks, choose Tab, Window or Entire screen. If you record another window, this page can stay in the background; the recording keeps running.
